Two suspicious fires under investigation in St.Marys

Two suspicious fires in St.Marys have sparked an investigation.

Stratford Police and St.Marys firefighters were called to the first blaze just after 1 o’clock last Friday morning in a dumpster at a home on Wellington Street South.

The second fire then broke out around 3:30 that morning on Church Street where police say a garbage bin, located by the curbside, was found to be engulfed in flames.

They say both fires were extinguished with minimal damage caused and an investigation by the fire department lead officials to believe that both fires were caused by arson.

Stratford Police and the St.Marys Fire Department are working together on the investigation and they are asking anyone with information on what happened to contact them.
