City of Stratford focusing on parking offences outside the downtown core; hire new officer

The City of Stratford is keeping a close watch out for parking offences outside the downtown core.

Another parking officer and vehicle are being added by the city to its fleet to monitor the area outside downtown and make sure everyone is parking properly.

The cost of the vehicle, around $25 thousand, was included as part of this year’s city budget while the parking enforcement officer will be contracted through Commissionaires for around $53 thousand.

The addition of another officer means the city will have four parking enforcement officers.

Officials say the moves come after hearing feedback from the community about parking issues.
