Police: Wanted man found with loaded handgun in Stratford

A Stratford man wanted by police faces a raft of charges after he was found with a loaded handgun.

Shortly after 9 o’clock Wednesday night, Stratford Police say they received information about the location of a man wanted for a number of domestic violence-related offences.

Officers went to a home in the east end of the city and found the man who was hiding in a shed in the backyard.

They say he was arrested and police searched the area where they found a loaded handgun, ammunition for the gun, and a bow with several arrows.

As a result of two investigations, the 27-year-old faces a long list of charges including for twelve different weapons-related offences.

He was held in custody for a bail hearing Thursday and in order to help protect the victim in the original incidents, he is not being named by police.
