Driver charged after collision that left tractor-trailer in the ditch in Perth County

Police say a driver will answer to a careless driving charge following a collision in Perth County that left a rear-ended tractor-trailer in the ditch.

First responders were called out to Perth Line 86, between Molesworth and Listowel, around 8:20 Tuesday morning after the collision.

Perth County OPP say a westbound tractor-trailer had taken evasive action to avoid a head-on collision with a car that was travelling eastbound on Perth Line 86.

The vehicles collided and the tractor-trailer ended up leaving the road and coming to a stop in the north ditch.

According to police, the driver of the car was taken to hospital and later released and being charged with careless driving.

The truck driver wasn’t hurt and Perth Line 86 was closed in the area while investigators were on scene and the truck was taken away.
