Ingersoll woman faces series of charges after police say she assaulted officers

An Ingersoll woman will answer to a raft of charges in court including assaulting police officers.

Around 2:30 last Thursday afternoon, Oxford County OPP say they stopped a vehicle on North Town Line West after they got a complaint about a possible impaired driver who had hit a vehicle and then taken off.

Officers found the vehicle and stopped it near Charles Street East and Daniel Street in Ingersoll.

The woman was arrested and police say she assaulted two officers as they were bringing her back to the OPP detachment.

She faces charges including two counts of assaulting a peace officer, resisting a peace officer and operation while impaired.

She is scheduled to appear in court in Woodstock in the coming weeks.
