Stratford Police searching for suspects they say stole truck in West Perth

Stratford Police are trying to track down those responsible for stealing a truck in West Perth.

Just after 9 o’clock Tuesday morning, police say they were called about a pick-up truck, described as a red 2005 Chevy Silverado, being stolen from a farm on Line 20.

Police say the truck’s owner had parked it at the farm as he was doing chores only to see a Ford F150 pick-up truck pull into the laneway with a male in his twenties getting out and then driving off in the stolen truck following the Ford.

The owner of the truck followed it in another vehicle and called police with Stratford officers locating it as it approached the city.

Officers pursued the truck and when it didn’t stop officers stopped following it.

The truck was later located in the ditch on Road 134 near Line 29 with minor damage after it struck a sign.

Anyone with information on the theft is asked to call Stratford Police or Crime Stoppers.
