Fifth Annual Labour Day Picnic set to take place in Stratford

All workers in Stratford are being honoured for a fifth time this Labour Day.

The Stratford and District Labour Council is coming together this holiday Monday to hold their annual Labour Day Picnic in Upper Queens Park.

The picnic is free to attend and organizers say it features a barbeque with hotdogs, activities for kids and union and community groups set up around the park to inform and engage with the public.

President of the Stratford and District Labour Council, Ann Cook, says it’s all about showing gratitude.

“We are honouring everybody that works, it does not have to be a paid position, it can be you working in your home, it can be you working in your garden, but we’re just saying thank you for the work that you do.”

The event goes from noon until three p.m.
