Driver faces impaired charge after collision south of Shakespeare

“Plan ahead and arrange for a designated driver or overnight accommodations to avoid a tragedy.”

That from Perth County OPP Operations Manager Acting Staff Sergeant Jason McTaggart following a collision south of Shakespeare that lead to a driver being charged with driving while impaired.

The collision between a sedan and a tractor-trailer happened just before 9 o’clock on Tuesday morning at the intersection of Perth Road 107 at Perth Line 33.

While speaking with the man driving the sedan, police say an officer determined that he was impaired.

The 37-year-old from West Perth was brought to the Sebringville OPP detachment where he was given further testing by a Drug Recognition Expert.

He’s due in court in Stratford on September 23rd.
