Stratford adds new school crossing guard for students at at Stratford Secondary and Elementary Schools

There’s a new school crossing guard in place in Stratford.

The City of Stratford says that as a safety measure for students at Stratford Secondary and Elementary Schools, a crossing guard will be set up at the intersection of Forman Avenue and Oakdale Avenue.

According to the city, the crossing guard will be located at that intersection from 8:10 a.m. until 9:10 a.m., and then from 2:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. Monday to Friday.

Officials say that the crossing guard will be in place until the pedestrian crossover is installed just north of the Oakdale Avenue and Forman Avenue intersection.

That crossover is expected to be installed later this month, and will feature painted lines on the street, as well as signs and flashing beacon lights to alert motorists to the crossing.
