Neon Night Stratford Fun Run set for Friday evening

Supporting childhood cancer research while being as colourful as possible.

That’s the idea behind the Neon Night Stratford 5 Kilmometre Fun Run taking place Friday night in Stratford with organizers saying that 100 per cent of the money raised through the event will go to childhood cancer research.

Neon Night is a 5 kilometre non-competitive, fun run or walk for all ages and abilities and it involves teams or individuals who registered and will dress up in the most colourful outfits they can find.

Laura Pethick with the Huron-Perth Canadian Cancer Society says the event is a great chance to get out and have some fun.

“Everybody dresses up in their bright colours, neon colours, they get face paint on, they might wear some colourful wigs, they go back and grab that eighties outfit that might be in the back of the closet and they come all decked out as bright as they can.”

The run goes from 7 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. and it starts at the Domino’s Pizza on Ontario Street.
