Police: West Perth man charged after he assaulted another man with a knife

A 33-year-old West Perth man faces an aggravated assault charge after police say he assaulted another person with a knife.
Around 7:30 Monday night, police say they were called about a man assaulted with a knife in Mitchell.
Once on scene, officers say they found an injured man who was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say they learned that a verbal altercation escalated into an assault with the suspect arrested a short time later.
He was held for a bail hearing in Stratford.
Anyone with further information on what happened is asked to call Perth County OPP or Crime Stoppers.
