Terry Fox Run taking place Sunday in Stratford

It’s almost time for another annual event in Stratford.

The 34th Annual Terry Fox Run for Cancer Research takes place Sunday in Stratford and over 215 locations across Ontario with participants taking part in the non-competitive, family-friendly fundraiser for cancer research.

Locally, the event starts at 8 a.m. and finishes up around 1 p.m. starting off at Upper Queen’s Park and then going around the Avon River.

Event spokesperson Rena Spevack Orr says the day means a lot to those who take part.

“There’s no registration fee, there’s no minimum pledge, it’s not competitive, it’s just come down, remember Terry Fox, if you have memories of him share your stories, a lot of people do that.”

You don’t have to pre-register to take part in the event.
