A section of T.J. Dolan Drive in Stratford is one step closer to being closed permanently.
At its regular meeting on October 15th, Stratford City Council will vote on a by-law to close a section of the road, between St. Vincent Street South and St. David Street, for good.
Officials say that poor drainage and a lack of a gravel base have contributed to the deterioration of the road surface.
As a result, they say it’s no longer possible to provide winter maintenance, and the road is no longer safe for vehicles.

Staff with the city have recommended converting the section to a multi-use path.
