Bench and plaque honoring Stratford woman killed on Mother’s Day now installed in city park

A fitting tribute to a wonderful person.

That’s what the family and friends of Evelyn Sophia Harris are calling a bench and plaque that are now installed in her memory in Stratford.

Harris, a 62-year-old Stratford resident, was killed on Mother’s Day after she was struck by a vehicle in the Stratford Walmart parking lot.

In May,  a Go Fund Me page was set up by Harris’s niece Joanna Miller, to collect donations to go towards a bench and plaque.

Miller tells MyStratfordNow.com that $2,600 was raised through the page and direct donations and the bench and plaque are now located in Dufferin Park.
