Stratford launching School Travel Planning Project in October

Encouraging active transportation and addressing traffic congestion in school zones.

That’s what the City of Stratford says is behind its School Travel Planning Project which launches in October.

Officials say that Stratford’s School Travel Planning Committee will be working with elementary schools in the city to raise awareness about active school travel, identify and to address barriers to active school travel.

They will also be developing an action plan with solutions specific to each school.

Schools taking part in the project include Anne Hathaway Public School, Avon Public School, and Shakespeare Public School.

It follows what the city says was a “successful pilot initiative” involving St. Aloysius and St. Joseph’s Catholic Schools, and Bedford and Romeo Public Schools.
