Police: New driver faces numerous charges after testing positive for THC

Stratford Police say a 21-year-old driver faces numerous charges after he tested positive for THC.

Around 5 o’clock last Friday afternoon, police say they got a call from a witness who reported seeing a man smoking a cannabis bong before getting behind the wheel of a vehicle.

The witness said the man drove away from the Wildwood Conservation Area and was travelling towards Stratford.

Police found and stopped the vehicle as it was driving into the city and they got a breath sample from the driver which showed that he had THC in his body.

They say they found thirty grams of cannabis in the vehicle along with an open bottle of alcohol which was within reach of the driver.

Several charges were laid against the man and his G2 license was suspended for three days.
