PDHU enforcing new tanning law

The Perth District Health Unit reminds you to ban-the-tan.

Legislation came in on May 1st banning people under the age of 18 from using tanning beds in Ontario.

The new law requires that tanning bed operators post signs in their business that warn about this restriction and of the dangers associated with tanning bed use.

Operators will be required to ask for proof of age identification and will not be allowed to promote UV tanning services to youth under 18.

Health Units will be enforcing the law across the province.
