You’ll soon be able to leave your organic waste by the curb to be recycled.
At a special meeting Tuesday night, Stratford City Council voted to begin a curbside organics collection program as of the beginning of next year.
The Stratford Beacon Herald reports that the program will cost around $388-thousand annually for weekly pickup through Canadian Waste Management plus $250-thousand which is a one-time cost for purchasing and distributing around 11-thousand green and kitchen bins.
Just where the funding will come from for the program costs is expected to be discussed during consultations on Stratford’s 2020 budget.
