Stratford man arrested and charged for breaching bail condition not to be in possession of animals

A Stratford man will be back in court after police say he breached his probation order when he was found with two cats.

Police say they were told on Tuesday that the 19-year-old, who was arrested and charged in March, was in possession of the animals.

The man was charged initially after police say a video of him abusing a cat went viral and he was later convicted and ordered not to keep any animals with him.

Police went to the man’s home in the south end of the city on Tuesday and found him with the cats, one of which they say was the one that was abused in the video.

Both cats appeared to be well cared for and didn’t appear to have been abused but the man was arrested and charged with breaching a probation order.

He’s scheduled to appear in court in Stratford on November 4th and the cats were taken by the Humane Society.
