Ontario Dress Purple Day on Thursday

Speaking up for every child and youth’s right to safety and well-being in all spaces.

That’s the idea behind Ontario Dress Purple Day taking place Thursday across the province, including in our area, with Children’s Aid Societies raising awareness about the role that adults and communities play in supporting vulnerable children, youth, and families.

Here in Stratford, the Huron-Perth Children’s Aid Society is hosting an open house from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. where everyone is invited to come by for some refreshments and learn about the services and programs they offer.

Executive Director of the Huron-Perth Children’s Aid Society, Shaun Joliffe, says it’s important to raise awareness around the youth in our community.

“Also to let kids know that they’re not alone in this province when they are having some problems at home that there are people out there that are interested in helping them make things better in their home.”
