Two options being looked at for future of public high schools in Stratford

We are getting a better idea of what the future might look like for the public high schools in Stratford.

The Avon Maitland District School Board says it has narrowed the plans for once construction is done at Stratford Central Secondary School to two options.

The first option would include grades 7 and 8 at Stratford Central Secondary School with grades 9 to 12 at Stratford Northwestern while the other option would see grades 7 to 9 at Central and 10 to 12 at Northwestern.

Officials say consultations are currently taking place into both options and a joint school council meeting is planned for November 6th at 6:30 p.m. in the SSES gymnasium.

They add that delegations from both schools councils will be allowed to provide feedback at a special board meeting on November 19th with a location to be determined.

Stratford Central is in the process of going through a $6.9-million renovation with the school reopening for 2020-2021 school year.
