Scary weather in store for Halloween

Spooky weather is in store for trick or treaters in the Stratford area.

A Special Weather Statement from Environment Canada is calling for the heavy rainfall we’ve been experiencing to continue through to Friday morning with the heaviest rain coming down Thursday afternoon.

The weather agency says we could see total rainfall of between thirty to fifty millimetres along with heavy winds of up to 70 kilometres from Thursday night through to Friday morning.

Senior Climatologist with Environment Canada, David Phillips, says it could turn out to be the wettest Halloween on record in Stratford.

“You’re going to see some winds are going to pick up towards the late afternoon and into the evening.”

Phillips adds that the soggy weather is part of an American weather system coming out of Mississippi.
