Several local community groups to benefit from Farm Credit Canada funding

Several community groups in our area are getting a financial boost from Farm Credit Canada.

The FCC’s AgriSpirit Fund is giving $1.5 million to ninety-four community groups across the country for community improvement projects that the FCC says enhances the lives of residents or contributes to sustainability in communities.

Locally, the Listowel Agricultural Society is receiving $17, 500 for work on the society hall while Perth South is getting $14-thousand to increase energy efficiency in its hall.

L’Arche Stratford is also benefitting by being given $10,500 while The Local Community Food Centre will receive $10-thousand to replace pannels of its on-site greenhouse for year-round use.

FCC says it’s Canada’s leading agriculture lender, with a healthy loan portfolio of more than $36-billion.
