Stratford man charged after incident near Exeter

Police say fresh snow helped them track down a 24-year-old Stratford man near Exeter.

Around 5:30 Monday morning, Huron County OPP say they were called by a property owner on Thames Road who said there was a suspicious man there.

Police say the owner saw the suspect driving an ATV on his property and then hiding in the bushes.

The owner took the key out of the ATV so the suspect couldn’t drive away and police found fresh footprints in the snow.

He was later found on Hern Line and police say they learned that he had stolen the ATV he was riding on.

He faces charges including Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5-thousand and he’s scheduled to be in court early next month.
