Cold winter with above-average snowfall in store

It appears this winter is going to be one that we won’t soon forget.

The Weather Network released its seasonal forecast on Monday and it’s calling for the conditions to be colder than normal as a whole across the country, including in our area, with above-average snowfall.

There are expected to be some breaks along the way, but Doug Gillam who’s a meteorologist with The Weather Network says you might want to plan a trip to a warmer climate at some point.

He adds that we’ve already seen an early preview of what’s to come.

“Winter stormed onto the scene awfully early this year, with high impact winter weather already.”

Gillam adds that if you haven’t got your winter tires put on yet, you’ll want to make sure you do as soon as possible.
