The Upper Thames River Conservation Authority is testing a novel approach to improving water quality; using shellfish.
On Friday the Authority will be installing a chitosan water filter at Luckhart Transport Limited, 4049 Perth County Road 135, in Sebringville.
Chitosan is a material made from shellfish, animals that are known to absorb phosphorous.
The filter will be installed Friday at 3:00 p.m.
