Next year’s budget nearing completion in Stratford

The finishing touches are being put on next year’s budget by the City of Stratford.
Officials say that if nothing is changed then the 2020 budget will see municipal taxes go up 3.97 per cent.
To get to that number, several changes are being proposed by the city including reducing the Stratford Police Services budget by $150-thousand, putting off buying a utility vehicle for the Stratford Fire Department and extending parking enforcement hours until 8 o’clock in the evening.
The final budget by-law is expected to be voted on at council’s meeting on December 9th.
