Test of Canada’s emergency alerting system set for Wednesday

Another test of Canada’s emergency alerting system is taking place this week.
The test is set to happen at 2:55 local time Wednesday afternoon and it will be sent over television, radio and compatible LTE wireless devices.
Officials say the Alert Ready system is designed to deliver critical and potentially life-saving alerts to Canadians.
The test alerts are intended to educate and simulate what an emergency alert will look like and sound like in the event of a life-threatening situation.
Not all wireless devices will get the message for a number of reasons, including device compatibility and cell tower coverage.
