Perth-Wellington MP John Nater appointed Conservative Deputy House Leader

Perth-Wellington MP John Nater will play a prominent role in the Conservative caucus.

Party Leader Andrew Scheer announced his caucus Thursday morning and it includes John Nater serving as deputy house leader.

Nater has represented Perth-Wellington in Ottawa since 2015.

He says, despite his new role, his priority remains representing the people in our area.

“I’ll be meeting on a daily basis with our own party’s leadership but I’ll also be meeting on a weekly basis with the other parties, both the government and the other opposition parties as well, so it gives me an opportunity to advocate on behalf of the people of Perth-Wellington.”

Scheer is trying to refocus his caucus on next week’s return of Parliament, with two campaigns now underway to vote him out at a leadership review in April.
