All Avon Maitland District School Board schools will be closed for one day next week if there’s a teacher’s strike.
The Ontario Secondary School Teacher’s Federation announced Thursday that if they don’t reach a tentative deal, then its members will hold a one-day strike next Wednesday.
In a letter to parents, the AMDSB says the strike would force them to close all of the board’s schools, elementary and secondary, because of safety concerns.
The board says it will continue to monitor the situation closely and, if there isn’t a strike, it will be business as usual with the schools open
