Ontario is doling out some funding to help farmers with environmental protection.
The province has announced a $5.75 million, multi-year project, to help farmers with environmental stewardship, enhancing water quality and improving soil health, among other objectives.
The On-Farm Applied Research and Monitoring project will “support a host of new activities to be carried out with farmers and other partners to make our agri-food sector greener and more competitive.”, according to officials.
The Ontario Soil and Crop Improvement Association will deliver the programming for the governments through to the end of the Partnership in 2023.
