It’s high praise for Romeo Public School and its accessible playground.
Stratford’s Accessibility Advisory Committee has presented the school with its 2019 Accessibility Award for the playground which was a student-lead project.
The playground includes ramps to two different platforms featuring a variety of accessible play activities and students were involved in various aspects of the multi-year project, from planning to fundraising.
Used during the school day by students, the playground has also become an outdoor gathering place for the community during after-school hours.
The award recognizes a business or organization that has gone the extra mile to make its building or service accessible to the public.
