A warning to the public following several barn fires in the area.
Perth East and area firefighters were called to two barn fires and a false alarm in the area last Wednesday that lead to the deaths of livestock and left major damage in their wake.
Fire Prevention Officer James Marshall says in a press release that they recommend taking a proactive approach for barn safety and “checking on electrical integrity, clearing sawdust and cobwebs, removing extension cords and
practicing farm safe smoking practices.”
The fire department offers barn fire prevention inspections and resources.
