Flood Watch Bulletin issued by Upper Thames River Conservation Authority

With lots of rain on the way, you’re being urged to be extremely cautious around all waterways.

The warning comes from the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority who has issued a Flood Watch Bulletin.

They say widespread precipitation is forecast across southwestern Ontario and is expected to continue until late Saturday.

Current forecasts call for 50 – 100 mm of rain over the two days, with most falling on Saturday.

Banks adjacent to rivers and creeks are very slippery and, when combined with cold, fast-moving water, pose a serious hazard, parents are being encouraged to keep their children and pets away from all water.

Flood prone areas include Dolan Drive, the Avon Cemetery, and the Stratford Golf and Country Club
