Stratford Perth Humane Society experiencing significant increase in demand for services.

The Stratford Perth Humane Society says they’ve seen a significant increase in demand for their services.

Compared to 2017 numbers, the SPHS says it helped 200 more animals in 2018, and almost 400 more animals in 2019 through their surrender program, stray services, emergency boarding and cruelty services.

They also saw a large spike in sick or injured wildlife in need of their help, jumping from 94 animals in 2018, to 195 animals last year.

Low-cost spay-neuter services are also showing increased demand, according to the SPHS, which lead them to add a second day of services last October and plans to add a third day by this summer.

To support the services, the SPHS has announced their events lineup for this year.

The events are:

Bake for the Animals – February 24 to March 1: rebranded from National Cupcake Day to Bake for the Animals, SPHS is turning our sweetest day of the year into a whole WEEK!
