More details released on blaze that destroyed Perth County home

We’re learning more about a weekend fire that destroyed a home in Perth County.

Firefighters from several area fire departments were called out to the fire at a home on Road 135, just north of Rostock, shortly after 6 o’clock Sunday night.

The house was destroyed in the blaze and damage has now been pegged at around $425-thousand.

A cause of the fire has yet to be determined but those living in the home, along with a cat, were able to make it out safely with one person taken to the hospital as a precaution and later released.

Unfortunately, fire officials say a dog that was in the home perished in the blaze.
