Some areas still cleaning up after latest blast of winter

Some parts of Perth County are still digging out after all snow that fell recently.

In Stratford, officials say core blowing, which involves the removal of accumulated snow in the downtown core, was largely completed on the weekend.

The snow is taken to the City’s snow dump just south of the Romeo Street/Lorne Avenue intersection.

They add that a full plow was completed by 1 o’clock Saturday afternoon and every street had an application of salt and sand by 5 o’clock.

Perth County crews reported that several area roads that had been closed because of the weather reopened by Saturday afternoon.
