Elmira Maple Syrup Festival cancelled

The Elmira Maple Syrup Festival has been cancelled.  The organizers say they made the decision after the World Health Organization declared the outbreak of COVID-19 a pandemic.

They did a risk assessment as recommended by the Public Health Agency of Canada and made a unanimous decision to cancel the event.

The committee says in its 56th year it “is not the time to be rolling the dice and hope that we’re doing the right thing. This is about protecting people, and family, and right now there are too many risks.”
