A close contact of the first case of COVID-19 has tested positive, bringing the total number of cases in the Huron Perth Public Health area to two.
Huron Perth Public Health announced Wednesday afternoon that the case involves a 57-year-old woman who is a close household contact of the 64-year-old St. Marys man who was the first confirmed case in the area.
The first case was announced on March 14th.
HPPH says the woman does not have any symptoms of COVID-19 and she is self-isolating at home.
The status of the man who was the first case has changed from serious to critical, according to the HPPH.
Huron Perth Public Health staff will be conducting thorough contact tracing related to the new confirmed case.
