Hartsburg, May

May Hartsburg, age 82 passed away peacefully with family at her side on Friday, July 25, 2014. She was born in Hamilton daughter of the late Alexander Stewart and the former Mary Holman. May married William Hartsburg in Hamilton,  October 23, 1954 and they started on their lives together for almost 60 years. They moved to Stratford in 1959 and Bill and May owned and operated the Dominion House Hotel until 1966, when they moved to Kitchener and then purchased and operated the Winston Hotel in Milverton until 1974. After that they lived in Stratford, St. Josephs, Port Rowan, St. Thomas and returned to Stratford five years ago. May was an energetic, hardworking and creative person. She was a sports fan, a hockey mom, and nothing was more important to her than her family. May is survived by her husband Bill, her children Kim Lang, Craig and Peggy, Todd and Cory. Her grandchildren Christopher (Lindsay) Hartsburg, Kathleen (Craig)  Kennedy, Alexandra and Cameron Lang. Her great grandchildren Colin and Blake Kennedy. Also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families and many longtime special friends. Friends and relatives may call at the W. G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron St., Stratford on Tuesday, July 29 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 12 noon until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. followed by a reception. Rev. Kathy Urbasik Hindley will officiate.
