Man tries to steal gas on a stolen ATV

A 33-year-old Stratford man faces charges after he tried to steal fuel on a stolen ATV.

The Huron County OPP was called out Tuesday morning on Harriston Road at the Howick Roads Department property.

The officer noticed a suspicious ATV trying to leave the property so he followed it.

The driver went into a field but police contained him there and combed the area until they found him hiding in the riverbank foliage.

He was arrested and police found break-in instruments at Methamphetamine on him.

Additional investigation revealed the suspect was also responsible for four recent break, enter and thefts of fuel that took place at the Wawanosh Nature Centre located on Nature Centre Road in North Huron.

If you have any information you’re asked to contact police at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
