A third resident at a Stratford long-term care home has died from COVID-19.
Huron Perth Medical Officer of Health Dr. Miriam Klassen provided the update Monday afternoon saying a third resident at Greenwood Court has died from the virus.
The death brings the total of those who have passed away from the virus in the region to four.
Dr. Klassen says they expect to see more confirmed COVID-19 cases at long-term care homes in the area due to
increased testing.
There have been 12 confirmed cases at Greenwood Court, including six residents and six staff members.
Across Huron Perth, 979 people have been tested for COVID-19 including 37 confirmed cases, 734 negative and 208 tests that are pending.
Ten people have recovered from the virus in the region.
