A 23-year-old Exeter man faces a raft of charges following an incident last week.

Huron County OPP says a victim reported on Friday that someone had entered into his Saunders Street home and stole a rifle along with some ammunition.

Police say they had received a call earlier in the day from a witness that reported seeing someone walking down Victoria Street West with a rifle and a box of ammunition.

At that point in time, the suspect was spoken to however police say he denied any knowledge of the firearm.

After investigating further, police say they returned and spoke with the suspect.

He was arrested and the stolen rifle and ammunition were recovered.

The man faces charges including Possession of a Firearm Obtained by Crime and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose.
