No change in number of cases of COVID-19 in Huron Perth

The number of cases of COVID-19 in Huron Perth is still at fifty.

Huron Perth Public Health released updated data Friday morning that shows no change in the number of cases since Thursday when the first case of the virus was reported in the region in over two-and-a-half weeks.

That case is in a patient at Maitland Manor in Goderich where an outbreak has been declared.

Officials say it’s standard procedure to declare an outbreak at a long-term care home when one confirmed case is diagnosed.

There have been no new deaths with that total remaining at five.

Fifty-two more people have been tested for the virus since Thursday with the total of those tested now sitting at 2,619.

Seventy-seven tests are pending with negative test results still at 98-percent.
