Stratford Police and the Stratford Police Association are pledging to be a part of “a culture of change.”
In a letter released Friday afternoon and signed off on by officials including Stratford Police Chief Greg Skinner, the force says they stand united with the community and they know the areas they serve are not untouched by the killing of George Floyd and the impact it has had throughout the world.
They say they recognize and share in the hurt, anger, and frustration that is being felt throughout the community and they know Floyd’s death represents a call for change.
They say they must demonstrate “professionalism, integrity and compassion” in all they do and racism “has no part” in our community.
