Perth County OPP charge Toronto man with fraud related offences

A 48-year-old Toronto man faces several fraud related charges after an investigation by Perth County OPP.
Around 11 o’clock in the morning on May 21st, police say the suspect went to a financial institution in North Perth where they used a stolen identification to complete transactions that resulted in the institution being defrauded of $40-thousand.
Then last Thursday, police say they were contacted by staff at the institution as the same suspect had gone to another branch in Exeter where staff became suspicious and sent the suspect away.
Police learned the suspect had an appointment scheduled at a Mitchell branch the same day and officers arrested him when he arrived.
Charges including three counts of Fraud Over $5-thousand have been laid against the suspect who has a future court appearance in Stratford.
