Perth County OPP reminding drivers about intersection safety

Perth County OPP are reminding drivers to take the extra time to stop, look, and look again before going through an intersection.

It comes after they say they’ve investigated a number of intersection related collisions so far this year, including one on Friday in Perth East.

Shortly after 11 o’clock on Friday morning, first responders received a report of a two-vehicle collision on Perth Line 43.

Police say they’ve determined that one SUV was traveling northbound on Perth Road 140, when it stopped at the stop sign at Perth Line 43.

The vehicle then proceeded into the intersection and collided with a westbound SUV.

They say the intersection is controlled northbound and southbound only with a stop sign and the drivers of the vehicles were transported to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
An 82-year-old resident of St.Marys has been charged with Fail to Yield to Traffic on Through Highway.
