The Stratford Police Services Board is forming a Community Equity Action Team.
At their meeting on Wednesday, the board voted unanimously to create the team which they say, once created, will support and enhance the work already done by Stratford Police to engage with citizens to better understand challenges faced by Black, Indigenous and people of colour.
A member of the board, along with Police Chief Greg Skinner, will work with the City of Stratford to create Terms of Reference for the new team.
SPS is also partnering with several other service providers across Perth County to develop the area’s first Community Safety and Well Being Plan.
