Stratford reopens cooling centre as weather turns warm

With plenty of humid days in the forecast, the City of Stratford is re-opening the cooling centre in the lobby of the Community Hall at the Rotary Complex.

The air-conditioned facility will be open weekdays starting at 9 o’clock in the morning and weekends starting at 10 o’clock in the morning.

The City is following provincial guidelines and direction from local health professionals to help protect against the spread of COVID-19 at the cooling centre.

They ask that if you are experiencing symptoms of the virus, including a fever, cough, or difficulty breathing, that you don’t visit the facility.

For everyone’s safety, face masks and hand sanitizer will be available, and measures will be in place at the site to reinforce safe social distancing.

The Anne Hathaway Splash Pad is also open, and the city is asking parents and caregivers to ensure their children are maintaining safe social distancing and proper hygiene while enjoying that facility.
