Touching the Hickory Tussock Moth caterpillar can cause a rash similar to poison ivy.
It has fluffy white hair and black markings along its back.
The PDHU says you should avoid touching it.
If you do accidentally touch the caterpillar you should wash the affected area with soap and water immediately.
